The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Calls The Wiretapping Of 12 Cellphones As Evidence Of The Beginning Of Hasto Kristiyanto's Case

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Legal Team stated that the determination of the suspect against the Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto in the case of alleged interim bribery cases (PAW) of the DPR had passed the investigation process.

Where, there are some sufficient preliminary evidence such as wiretapping of 12 phone numbers to witness testimony.

The statement was made by members of the KPK legal team when reading out their response to objections from Hasto Kristiyanto's camp at the pretrial hearing at the South Jakarta District Court.

"That in the case title or exposure, the respondent investigator in submitting the report has immediately explained the acquisition of sufficient preliminary evidence," said a member of the KPK legal team, Thursday, February 6.

In the process of title of the case, it is said, some preliminary evidence that has been pocketed such as letters, or documents, statements from a number of people related to the a quo case.

Then there is also evidence of instructions, including letters or documents totaling more than 12 documents and some money. Then the statements of several people contained in the minutes of requests for information, as well as electronic evidence

"According to the information from 8 people as outlined in the minutes of requesting information, the instructions are in the form of electronic evidence, the latest results of wiretapping of 12 cellphone numbers suspected of being involved in the a quo case," he said.

Furthermore, the report was validated and made a Corruption Crime Report (LKTPK). The contents are about the conclusion of the alleged criminal act to suggestions that the matter be upgraded to the level of investigation.

"There is a conclusion that there are allegations of corruption, position cases, alleged articles and suggestions for the action so that the case is raised to the investigation stage," said a member of the KPK legal team.

Previously, it was reported that Hasto was known to have been named a suspect in the alleged interim bribery case (PAW) which also ensnared former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan and his fugitive, Harun Masiku.

Not only Hasto, but the KPK has also named Donny Tri Istiqomah, who is a PDIP cadre and a lawyer as a suspect.

In fact, in its development, the KPK has also named Hasto as a suspect in the obstruction of the investigation. The PDIP Secretary General is suspected of trying to obstruct the legal process, one of which is by asking Harun to damage his cellphone and run away after the arrest operation (OTT) was carried out.

After becoming a suspect, Hasto's camp filed a pretrial lawsuit. This case is registered with case number 5/Pid.Pra/2025/PN JKT.SEL and Djumyanto acting as the sole judges.
