Acting Governor Of DKI Regarding Pramono Will Fire Polygamy ASN: We Support, Sir

JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Teguh Setyabudi responded to the statement by the elected governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung who strongly opposed the DKI Provincial Civil Apparatus (ASN) for polygamy.

Pramono also indicated that he would revoke or revise Governor Regulation Number 2 of 2025 concerning Procedures for the Provision of Marriage and Divorce Permits signed by Teguh.

Teguh admitted that he actually supported Pramono's move to fire ASN to carry out polygamy when he officially led Jakarta in the 2025-2030 period. This was revealed after receiving Pramono's visit at DKI Jakarta City Hall

"Actually, the spirit is the same. Pram emphasized that monogamous adherents, I too do. If there is polygamy outside the provisions that is indeed so difficult, it will certainly get heavier sanctions, dismissal and so on. Anyway, we support it, sir!" said Teguh, Tuesday, February 4.

Teguh explained that Pergub 2/2025 which regulates a number of ASN requirements for polygamy basically aims to make it difficult for government employees who intend to have more than one wife and divorce from their partners.

Moreover, according to Teguh, the governor's regulation regarding marriage, divorce, and polygamy regulations for Jakarta ASNs is a derivative rule of central government regulations.

"That's why in the governor's regulation it is tightened, it is very difficult to carry out polygamy. But the name is lower regulations, of course it should not conflict with higher regulations," explained Teguh.

Some time ago, Pramono reminded Jakarta ASN not to think about polygamy during his leadership. As a monogamous adherent, he did not want his subordinates to have more than one partner.

"I am a monogamous adherent and for me, ASN in Jakarta, never think about getting polygamy in my era," said Pramono while attending the handover of the honorary title from the Betawi Council in Cilangkap, East Jakarta, Saturday, February 1.

Pramono said he deliberately conveyed this attitude before being inaugurated. "The others are willing to do polygamy. But not ASN," he said.

While on a separate occasion, Pramono ensured that this ban would take effect when he took office. Anyone who violates is preparing to be fired.

"Yes, it is not allowed. If it is not allowed to be violated, it will be fired," he said.
