7 People Involved In The Murder Of Teenagers In Semarang Become Suspects, 3 Perpetrators Are Still At Large

SEMARANG - Police have named seven suspects in the case of the beating that killed a teenager with the initials TM (18), a resident of Genuk, Semarang City, Central Java, which occurred on January 29, 2025.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Semarang Polrestabes AKBP Andika Dharma Sena said four suspects had been arrested, while the other three were still at large.

"There are perpetrators who are adults, some are minors," he said in Semarang, Antara, Sunday, February 2.

According to him, the autopsy results on the victim revealed bruises on the head. Meanwhile, the victim himself died allegedly due to bleeding in the head.

The suspects were charged with Article 170 of the Criminal Code regarding beatings that resulted in death.

The motive for the beating, he said, stems from accusations against the victim who allegedly stole a cell phone from one of the perpetrators.

Previously, a teenager with the initials TM (18) was reported to have died after being treated at the Sultan Agung Hospital in Semarang on January 31, 2025.

The victim was taken by his family to the hospital after being found unconscious in front of the house after being escorted by several people suspected of being the perpetrators of the persecution.
