Governor Inauguration Postponed, Pramono: When To Inaugurate, Please Just Go

JAKARTA - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung was elected casually in response to the inauguration of the regional head which was canceled on February 6. He fully left the decision to the central government.

"I want to be inaugurated at any time, please (please)," Pramono told reporters in the Cilangkap area, East Jakarta, Saturday, February 1.

Pramono said he just followed up with the central government's decision. Therefore Pramono did not want to talk much about the postponement of the schedule for the inauguration of regional heads.

"The name of the regional leader must be sami'na wa atho'na (hear and obey) to the central leader," said the former Cabinet Secretary (Seskab).

The postponement of the schedule for the inauguration of non-dispute regional heads at the Constitutional Court (MK) was conveyed by the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian. This step was taken in response to the Constitutional Court's interim decision.

"The inauguration (of the regional head) who is non-dispute at the Constitutional Court, 296, which on February 6 will be combined with the results of the dissal decision," Tito said in a press conference at his office, Friday, January 31.

The reading of this dismissal decision will be held by the Constitutional Court on February 4-5. There are 310 disputes over the results of the 2024 simultaneous regional elections.
