JAKARTA - The government has changed the schedule for the inauguration of elected regional heads in the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada between February 18 and 20. This schedule option has been postponed from the original decision on February 6.
This was revealed by the Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Khoirudin, in a meeting of the DKI Jakarta DPRD Deliberative Body (Bamus). Khoirudin said the schedule was postponed based on a circular issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri).
"This is the latest announcement that the inauguration, which was originally February 6, will be 18 to 20. Yes, so it is possible 18, possibly 19, possibly 20 (February)," said Khoirudin at the DKI Jakarta DPRD Building, Friday, January 31.
In the Bamus meeting, the DKI DPRD prepared a plenary meeting to deliver the speech of the Governor of DKI Jakarta for the period 2025-2030 at the DKI DPRD building after the inauguration at the Palace and handover of positions.
"We will determine that after the governor is appointed and the handover of the position, we will immediately complete the speech of the governor of DKI Jakarta in our plenary room," said Khoirudin.
During February 18 to 20, DPRD members are scheduled to carry out recesses or go down to electoral districts (dapil). Responding to this, Khoirudin assessed that there would be no problem if the plenary meeting for the delivery of Pramono Anung-Rano Karno's speech after the inauguration was held in conjunction with the recess period.
"We can arrange that the recess is adjusted to the plenary time. It can be estimated that the plenary session will run out. So in the morning you can have a recess, hopefully in the afternoon a total of 106 DPRD members will attend the plenary meeting of the speech delivering the definitive governor," explained Khoirudin.
Previously, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Bima Arya Sugiarto said that around 270 elected regional heads from the 2024 simultaneous regional elections were planned to be inaugurated by President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, on February 6.
Bima explained that the regional head who was inaugurated on February 6 was part of the first inauguration of regional heads whose election results were not disputed or were not sued by the Constitutional Court (MK).
"God willing, Pak Prabowo will inaugurate in accordance with Law Number 10 of 2016 Article 164 B," said Bima Wednesday, January 22.

"There may be three, the second one will be (for the regional head, ed.) whose lawsuit is rejected or dismissal, the third one whose lawsuit is accepted for then the order to re-cash or re-vote," said Bima.
