DENPASAR Bali Regional Police (Polda) revealed that nine foreign nationals (WNA) were suspected of being involved in a robbery case against a Ukrainian with the initials I.
The Head of Public Relations of the Bali Police, Kombes Pol. Ariasandy, stated that based on the victim's report, the alleged perpetrators came from Russia, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan.
"From the victim's report, there are nine people suspected of being foreigners from Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan," said Ariasandy, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, January 31.
The Bali Police have summoned the alleged perpetrators through their respective state consulates for questioning. However, they did not fulfill the call even though they had been summoned twice.
"Nine people according to the victim's report have been summoned through his consulate. However, no one has yet been present," he added.
Currently, the case is being handled by the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) of the Bali Police. Investigators have also sent two Notifications on the Progress of Investigation Results (SP2HP) to the victim.
As part of the investigation, the Bali Police have held two pre-reconstructions at the scene and coordinated with the National Police's International Relations Division (Divhubinter), embassies, and immigration.
This incident occurred on December 15, 2024. The victim, who was driving a white BMW with his driver with the initials A, was suddenly intercepted by two cars on Jalan Tundun Turtle Dipal, Ungasan Village, South Kuta, Badung.
The first car, Alphard type, blocked the road from the front, while the other cars were blocking from behind. Four people dressed all black with masks got out of the first car, carrying weapons in the form of knives, hammers, and pistols.
The victim and the driver were then forced into one of the cars, their hands were handcuffed, and their heads were covered with black cloth.
They were then taken to a villa in South Kuta, Badung. Arriving at the location, the perpetrator took the victim's cellphone and hit it in order to hand over access to his crypto asset account.
The victim was forced to provide access to his Binance account, so that the crypto assets worth Rp3.4 billion were transferred to two accounts that allegedly belonged to the perpetrators.
As a result of this incident, the victim suffered bruises on his left hand, left eye, back head, and right waist, as well as wounds on his right ear and wrist.
