Head of the Garut Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Adjunct Commissioner of Police, Joko Prihatin, said that his party had dispatched a team to conduct crime scene investigations (TKP) and investigations to find the cause of the disaster that befell the child tourists.

Acting Head of the Garut Police and Air Unit, Iptu Aep Saprudin, said that the victim died from drowning after his hand was attracted to the pool water drain.

"The victim's hand is stuck in the sewer," he said, quoted by ANTARA.

He said the incident began when the victim played with the slide, then swam in the pool one meter deep and suddenly his hand was pulled into the water channel, making it difficult to return to the surface.

The victim, who was difficult to evacuate, could not be saved and died. The victim's body was then taken to the hospital.

"The victim was tried to be saved, but the victim's condition was difficult to lift because he was stuck," said Aep.
