JAKARTA - The number of recovered COVID-19 cases in East Kalimantan Province increased by 170 on Monday, April 19, bringing the total to 63,312 cases.

Spokesperson for the COVID-19 Task Force for East Kalimantan Province Andi Muhammad Ishak said that on the same day positive confirmed cases had also increased by 116 cases.

He said additional recovered cases occurred in Berau with 19 cases, Kutai Kartanegara 52 cases, East Kutai 15 cases, Mahakam Ulu 7 cases, Paser 17 cases, Penajam Paser Utara 6 cases, Balikpapan 39 cases, Bontang 2 cases and Samarinda 13 cases.

Meanwhile, additional positive confirmed cases occurred in Berau with 9 cases, West Kutai 1 case, Kutai Kartanegara 18 cases, East Kutai 9 cases, Paser 13 cases, Penajam Paser Utara 13 cases, Balikpapan 25 cases, Bontang 1 case and Samarinda 27 cases.

"With the addition of new cases, the accumulation of positive confirmed cases of COVID-19 in East Kalimantan is 66,878 cases, while cases that have been declared cured are 63,312 cases," said Andi M Ishak.

Andi added that there were 7 additional cases of death with details in Paser 1 case, Balikpapan 2 cases and Samarinda 4 cases.

"The total number of COVID-19 cases in East Kalimantan is 1,599 cases," added Andi M Ishak.

Andi emphasized that based on data from the East Kalimantan Provincial Health Office as of April 19, 2021, there were 2,028 COVID-19 patients who were still undergoing treatment.

There were 458 patients in Samarinda, 437 in Balikpapan, 261 in West Kutai, 201 in Kutai Kartanegara and 193 in Bontang.

Furthermore, Berau 151 patients, East Kutai 148 patients, Paser 69 patients, Panajam Paser Utara 44 patients and Mahakam Ulu 5 patients.
