OKI Value Trump Asks For Relocation Of Palestinians In Gaza Forms Of Open Violation Of International Law

JAKARTA - United States (US) President Donald Trump called for a "cleaning up" the Gaza Strip and relocating Palestinians to Jordan and Egypt. Trump called Gaza a "dismantling location."

Israel's genocide war in the region since October 7, 2023 has killed more than 47,000 Palestinians and left Gaza in total destruction.

"The plan to move Palestinians is considered by the OIC as a "discrete violation of international law and relevant UN resolutions," the OIC organization said in an official statement, quoted by Anadolu via Antara.

The OIC has again called for a full deployment of Israeli occupation troops, adequate delivery of humanitarian aid throughout Gaza's territory, as well as assistance for displaced residents to return to their homes.

Headquartered in Jeddah, OKI stressed the importance of providing an opportunity for the Palestinian government to carry out its responsibilities in maintaining the unity of Palestinian territories, including the Gaza Strip, West Bank, and East Jerusalem.

The OIC also calls for the implementation of the "emergency assistance, economic recovery, and reconstruction" program for Palestinians, as well as reaffirming its "unwavering support for the rights of the Palestinian people to their holy land and site."

The organization urges the international community to take responsibility in realizing a two-state solution to end Israel's occupation of the Palestinian territories that have been going on for decades.

Trump's proposal comes a week after the ceasefire and prisoner swap deals in Gaza took effect on January 19. Jordan and Egypt have also rejected the relocation plan.
