JAKARTA - The Ministry of Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (KP2MI) strongly condemns the excessive use of force in the shooting incident by the Malaysian maritime authorities, the Malaysian Maritime Strengthening Agency (APMM), against five PMIs which resulted in one death toll and a number of injuries.
"KemenP2MI urges the Malaysian government to immediately investigate this incident and take firm action against APMM patrol officers if they are proven to have taken actions involving the use of excessive force or exercise use of force," said Deputy Minister of P2MI Christina Aryani as reported by ANTARA, Sunday, January 26.
