According to him, the research is also aimed at finding out the source of the increased volume of water in the newly formed lake in the Tankolo area.
"The increase in water levels could be due to a large supply of water from springs that have sprung up around the lake," he said.
Sonny said that during this week the research team would monitor the condition of the lake which was formed about two weeks ago. He does not yet know whether the lake will become a harvester lake or will dry up in the dry season.
"We cannot confirm whether this lake will become a permanent lake or not because it requires more in-depth research," he said.
