Minister Of Law And Human Rights Supratman Concerning The Extradition Of Paulus Tannos: It Could Take A Day, Two Days

JAKARTA - Minister of Law Supratman Andi Agtas stated that Paulus Tannos' extradition process could be completed within one to two days. The return of the suspect in the case of corruption in the procurement of electronic identity cards (KTP) depends on the completeness of the documents.

"Everything can be a day, it can be two days. It depends on the completeness of the documents," Supratman told reporters at the Ministry of Law's office, South Jakarta, Friday, January 24.

Supratman explained that the extradition process began to apply to the Singapore Court. There are documents to be brought.

"If they consider our documents complete, they will definitely be processed," he said.

As previously reported, the KPK continues to coordinate so that Paulus Tannos can be extradited immediately. The fugitive in the corruption case in the procurement of the electronic identity card project (e-KTP) was arrested by Singapore's security authorities.

"The KPK is currently coordinating with the National Police, the Attorney General's Office, and the Ministry of Law as well as completing the necessary requirements to be able to extradite the person concerned to Indonesia," said Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Fitroh Rohcahyanto to reporters in a written statement, Friday, January 24.

The KPK wants extradition to be carried out immediately so that Tanos can immediately account for his actions. The President Director of PT Sandipala Arthaputra has been on the run since the era of the KPK leadership for the 2015-2019 period.

"Arrest by the Singaporean side at the request of Indonesia or professional arrests," said the former Director of Prosecution of the KPK.

Paul was known to no longer hold an Indonesian passport and change its name to Thian Po Thjin. The KPK even almost arrested him but could not be done because of this condition.
