Pretending To Be A Buyer, Couple Of Lovers Desperate To Steal A Motorbike At A Blitar Geprek Chicken Stall

BLITAR - Polres Blitar, East Java, arrested a couple involved in the motorcycle theft (curanmor) case.

Blitar Police Chief AKBP Arif Fazlurrahman explained that the motorcycle theft case occurred at a geprek chicken stall in Bajang Village, Talun District, Blitar Regency.

Two suspects, namely AI (24) and TY (22), who are lovers, were arrested at a boarding house in Tulungagung.

"The evidence that was successfully secured includes two motorbikes, STNK, jackets, and Rp44,000 in cash," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, January 23.

In the action, the perpetrator used the mode of pretending to be a food buyer at the shop, before stealing a motorcycle with a key that was still stuck.

AI perpetrators are also known as recidivists with similar cases.

"The two suspects were charged with Article 363 Paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code with a penalty of nine years in prison," he said.

In addition to arresting the lovers involved in the motorcycle theft case, the police also uncovered a case of motorcycle theft with almost the same mode, namely carrying a motorcycle when the key was still stuck.

The case involved a suspect with the initials AIH (33), who stole a Yamaha X Ride motorcycle in the victim's yard in Blumbang Hamlet, Ngembul Village, Binangun District, Blitar Regency on January 4, 2025.

The suspect was arrested after the victim happened to see his motorbike parked at a shop stall, just 100 meters from the Binangun Police.

The victim, who recognized his motorbike, was at the shop stall and immediately shouted.

Poolisi, who heard it, also immediately went and asked for an explanation.

To the police, the owner of a motorcycle named Susi immediately told me that his motorbike had been stolen. He also shared the characteristics of the person who took it and the police were quick to move.

Currently, evidence in the form of a motorbike and vehicle documents has been secured.

The suspect was charged with Article 362 of the Criminal Code with a penalty of five years in prison.
