Domestically Made P2 Tiger Vehicles Released To The Public

The latest generation APC P2 Tiger 4x4 Vehicle/Azmi Samsul Maarif

JAKARTA - PT Sentra Surya Ekajaya (PT SSE) as a private company engaged in armored vehicle manufacturing, has officially introduced the latest generation APC P2 Tiger 4x4 vehicle with the advantage of transporting military personnel.

CEO of PT SSE, Eka Suryajaya said P2 Tiger is an armored vehicle specifically designed to meet the needs of the Indonesian Army as well as support international market expansion.

"We are proud to present P2 Tiger, an armored vehicle that shows domestic manufacturing capabilities. Our collaboration with Texelis has allowed us to develop vehicles with maximum performance and protection," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, January 23.

He explained that the 18-ton vehicle was fully produced at the PT SSE facility in Tangerang, Banten with technology support from Texelis, a specialist in mobility from France.

The advantages possessed by this armored vehicle, continued Eka, are such as high ballistic protection by following STANAG standards of 4569 levels 2 to 4. Then, superior mobility supported by the Celeris mobility platform from Texelis with a 375 HP engine from Cummings, 6 speed automata transmission fromide, and advanced independent suspension systems.

Furthermore, having operational flexibility with modular configuration allows vehicles to be used as logistics transportation, command posts, infantry fighting vehicles, and ambulances.

Logistics efficiency with two units of P2 Tiger can be transported by A400M aircraft, making it a flexible vehicle for cross-regional operations.

"P2 Tiger is our first vehicle to integrate the Celeris mobility solution from Texelis. This is a big achievement for us and a symbol of successful technology transfer as well as mutually beneficial cooperation between Indonesia and France," he said.

In the development of P2 Tiger 4x4, this is the result of collaboration with Texelis, a specialist in mobility from French countries.

The development of the P2 Tiger, successfully completed in less than a year. This rapid assembly process was made possible thanks to Texelis' experience in handling armored vehicle projects such as the French Army's Serval 4x4.

As a native Indonesian product, P2 Tiger supports the Ministry of Defense's strategy to increase local content in the defense industry.
