Prabowo Leaves For India, Fulfills Invitations And Resolves MoU For Cooperation

JAKARTA - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto left for India, Thursday, January 23. Departure of the head of state to fulfill the invitation as an honorary guest as well as to strengthen the strategic comprehensive partnership between the two countries that was formed since 2018.

The President said his visit this time was part of the completion of a number of memorandums of understanding or MoU cooperation with Indonesia-India.

"Today, soon, I will go on a working visit to India, to New Delhi, at an invitation from the Indian government," the President said in a written statement, quoted from Antara.

Presiden Prabowo juga menyampaikan bahwa MoU tersebut meliputi bidang kesehatan, pertukaran program kebudayaan, masalah keamanan, keselamanan maritim, serta pengembangan teknologi dan digital.

The head of state departed from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta using the Indonesia-1 Presidential Aircraft at around 17.15 WIB and is planned to land at Palam Air Base, New Delhi.

President Prabowo and a limited entourage are planned to be in India from January 24 to 26, 2025.

Also accompanying the President on the flight to India is Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya and a number of related officials who have arrived in India first.

Seen releasing the President's departure, among others, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming, Minister of State Secretary Hadi Prasetyo, Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Muhaimin Iskandar, Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit, and TNI Commander General Agus Subianto.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemenlu) informed that President Prabowo's state visit to India on January 24, 2025 at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

This visit coincided with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia andIndia and aimed at strengthening the Strategic Comprehensive Partnership that was formed in 2018.

During this visit, President Prabowo is scheduled to attend a welcoming ceremony by the President of India in Rashtrapati Bhavan, hold bilateral meetings with PM Modi, and witness the exchange of memorandums of understanding in various sectors, including maritime, security, and education.

As the chief guest on the celebration of the 76th Day of the Republic of India, the President will also witness the participation of 352 Indonesian military personnel in the state parade. This visit underscores the commitment of the two countries in strengthening strategic cooperation in the fields of economy, defense and maritime affairs.
