BLITAR - Blitar Resort Police, East Java, evacuated a cooperating truck that overturned on the public road of Kelurahan/Kecamatan Kanigoro, Blitar Regency. The truck was loaded with flat corn and caused traffic jams in the surrounding area.
The Head of Subsidy for Media Information and Documentation Management (PIDM) from the Public Relations Section (Humas) of the Blitar Police, Ipda Putut Siswahyudi, explained that the accident began when a truck with police number S 8281 UZ stopped on the side of the road.
The truck driver, known as Sugeng, tried to turn around to the west, but the back of the truck rolled over.
"The truck was loaded with corn. The truck that was supplied was Sugeng stopping on the north side of the road. When he was about to turn back to the west, the back truck rolled over," Putut said, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, January 23.
As a result of the accident, the truck body closed the entire road, so that the lane could temporarily not be passed by four-wheeled vehicles and could only be passed by two-wheeled vehicles.
Receiving a report from the public, the police immediately went to the scene to regulate traffic flow and divert the flow.
The diversion was carried out at the Kanigoro intersection for the flow from Malang to Blitar, and at the Tlogo intersection for the current from Blitar to Malang.
The corn cargo scattered by the truck overturned also made the highway messy. The truck driver, Sugeng (56), who survived the incident, immediately contacted the company and his colleagues to ask for help. Shortly after, a number of residents helped put corn scattered into sacks.
The police helped in the process of evacuating trucks and securing corn cargo so that it would not be scattered on the road. The evacuation process was successfully carried out, and corn content was successfully transferred to sacks.
In addition, the police also intervened to clean up the remains of corn that was still scattered on the highway to prevent accidents from slipping the flat corn.
