Riau Police Thwarts Circulation Of 4.9 Kilograms Of Shabu International Network

PeKANBARU - Riau Police thwarted the circulation of five packages of methamphetamine weighing 4.9 kilograms which were suspected to be from the international network Golden Crescent.

Direktur Ditresnarkoba Polda Riau Kombes Putu Yudha Prawira menyebut barang haram ini diamankan dari seorang pria berinisial Z di wilayah Pelabuhan Roro Rupat, Kabupaten Bengkalis.

"This methamphetamine was brought from Malaysia by sea, into Rupat Island and to Dumai City. Based on the results of this investigation, it is suspected that the Golden Crescent international network," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, January 21.

After a series of investigations, Z was arrested who was caught red-handed carrying methamphetamine on a motorbike. Z admitted that the methamphetamine would be sold and circulated in Dumai.

The suspect admitted that he was the person who ordered, bought, and circulated this methamphetamine in Dumai City. Z also claimed to have carried out the action for six months.

"But we don't just believe it and will carry out developments related to this case," said Putu.

Police officers also found a boat ticket from Dumai to Malaysia. For four days Z was in Malaysia and then returned to Dumai.

"There is an alleged involvement of a courier with the initials K who is currently still being searched," he said.

As a result of his actions, according to Putu, Z was charged with Article 114 paragraph 2 and Article 112 paragraph 2 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 35 of 2009 with the threat of life imprisonment or the death penalty.
