Dismantling The Circulation Of Illegal Cosmetics, East OKU Police Seize 118 Products

OKU - Ogan Komering Ulu Resort Police (OKU) Timur, South Sumatra, dismantled the illegal cosmetic trade without a distribution permit and did not have a label from the Indonesian Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM).

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit AKP Mukhlis said that his party confiscated 118 cosmetic products of various brands without BPOM labels and distribution permits.

Hundreds of illegal indicated products were found at a cosmetic shop in Sriwangi Ulu Village, Semendawai Tribe III District, East OKU Regency.

"The shop belongs to AN (34), a resident of Cahya Negeri Village, Semendawai Sub-district, Suku III, who was also secured last Thursday at around 15.40 WIB," he said in Martapura, Antara, Sunday, January 19.

He explained that the arrest of AN stems from reports from the surrounding community that there were allegations of illegal cosmetic trafficking in Sriwangi Ulu Village.

"Furthermore, we conducted an in-depth investigation and raided the shop," he said.

From inside the shop, evidence was found in the form of 118 illegal cosmetic products consisting of 14 plain and white pot creams, six small Colagen Plus Vit E bottles, seven large Colagen Plus Vit E bottles, 40 Chinese plasters brand Miao Jia Zu Dai Fu Jun Ru Gao and 51 cream White Natural Cream of the Rose brand.

The alleged perpetrator will be charged with Article 435 of Law Number 17 of 2023 concerning Health, as well as Article 3 paragraph (1) and (2) Regulation of the Minister of Health Number 1176/MENKES/PER/VIII/2010 concerning Cosmetic Notifications.

"Currently, we have secured the alleged perpetrator and evidence at the East OKU Police Headquarters for further investigation," he said.
