North Sumatra Police Arrested 515 Dealers Of Methamphetamine Packages, Including Residents Who Blocked Police During Arrest

The Directorate of Drug Investigation (Ditresnarkoba) of the Regional Police (Polda) of North Sumatra (North Sumatra) arrested a suspected drug dealer of 515 packages of methamphetamine weighing 67.24 grams and 48 grams of marijuana.

"The perpetrators who were arrested by men with the initials AN (27) and HG (31) with evidence of hundreds of packages of methamphetamine and marijuana ready for distribution," said North Sumatra Police Chief Kombes Hadi Wahyudi in Medan, Thursday, January 16.

Hadi said the arrest began with public information about suspicious activities allegedly related to narcotics trafficking on Jalan Pematangsiantar, Pematang Siantar City.

North Sumatra Police Narcotics Directorate personnel conducted an investigation, then arrested 15 perpetrators who were transacting methamphetamine.

"Based on AN's statement, the evidence was obtained from HG. The police then carried out developments and arrested HG in a house on Jalan Pematangsiantar," said Hadi.

During the search, 500 packages of methamphetamine were found ready for distribution and a pack of marijuana weighing 48 grams in the house. The total evidence confiscated from the two perpetrators reached 515 packages of methamphetamine weighing 67.24 grams and 48 grams of marijuana.

"From the results of the initial examination, HG admitted that he got the goods from someone who was under investigation," he said.

The police also arrested a local resident, MS, who was suspected of obstructing the officers when he brought the two perpetrators.

The confiscated evidence has been examined using a narcotics test kit, while the perpetrators and witnesses are in the process of further interrogation.
