Australian Foreigner Found Dead In Bali Hotel Room, Family Calls There Is A History Of Stroke And Tumor

BALI - A foreign national (WNA) from Australia named Gooley Diane (71) was found dead in the hotel which is located at Jalan Bumi Ayu, Sanur, Denpasar, Bali.

"There were no signs of violence found on the victim's body, because around the scene of the case the doctor's medical records were found. From the witness' testimony, the victim had suffered a stroke," said Denpasar Police Public Relations Head Iptu Ketut Sukadi when confirmed, reported by Antara, Saturday, April 17.

There were 4 people who were questioned by the police as witnesses including the hotel clerk, fellow victim Virginia Kovacic and the victim's child, Shane Gooley. It is known that newspapers have a history of stroke and often seek treatment at a health facility, Renon Denpasar, Bali.

In addition, according to the witness statement, the hotel officer who used to care for and take care of foreign guests said that the victim from 4 years ago had a stroke and was hospitalized at Bros Hospital from March 26-April 2, 2021.

"From the results of the doctor's examination (some time ago) which stated that the victim also had a tumor in the spine," he said.

The discovery of the victim's body began on Friday, April 16 at around 08.00 WITA, when hotel officials cooked and took care of foreign guests about to check on the victim's condition. However, when he arrived at the room, he found the victim was dead.

At 11.00 am the victim was taken by Denpasar Sanglah Hospital by using the Denpasar City BPBD ambulance. The plan will be carried out at the Mumbul Nusa Dua Cremation.
