JAKARTA The Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that most major cities in Indonesia will experience rain with different intensity on Tuesday, January 14.

BMKG forecaster, Eriska Febriati, explained that light rain is predicted to occur in Banda Aceh, Medan, Pekanbaru, Padang, Jambi, Palembang, and Lampung. Meanwhile, people in Bengkulu, Tanjung Pinang, and Pangkal Pinang are advised to be aware of thunderstorms.

On the island of Java, light rain is predicted to occur in Jakarta and Serang, moderate rain in Bandung, while rain accompanied by lightning is predicted to occur in Semarang, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya.

For the areas of Bali and Nusa Tenggara, Denpasar and Mataram are predicted to experience light rain. Rain accompanied by lightning is predicted to occur in Kupang.

Light rain is predicted to flush Pontianak and Samarinda, while thunderstorms are expected to fall in Tanjung Selor, Palangkaraya, and Banjarmasin.
