Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Pratikno said the distribution of milk in the free nutritious eating program (MBG) was only given twice a week.
This decision was made after coordinating with the National Nutrition Agency (BGN). This was revealed by Pratikno after reviewing the implementation of the MBG at the Light Extraordinary School (SLB), Kelapa Gading Permai, North Jakarta.
"Especially for giving milk a week, given twice. Especially for children's schools, we have coordinated that we cannot just provide milk. We must coordinate," said Pratikno, Monday, January 13.
The distribution of MBG which just started at SLB Cahaya today presents a menu of rice, fried chicken, fried tofu, tumis of long beans and corn, as well as banana fruit. In his review, Pratikno assessed that the majority of students finished their food.
"We will continue to maintain the quality of this MGB, because this program really helps the community in improving nutritional quality and has a big economic impact on the lower middle class," said Pratikno.
Meanwhile, the Acting Governor of DKI said that as of today, there are 13 nutritional fulfillment service units (SPPG) that produce and distribute MBG for 118 schools in Jakarta.
"Alhamdulillah, today there are nine more SPPGs, so that it becomes 13 SPPGs to serve approximately 118 schools consisting of 37,667 students. So this is a very significant addition," said Teguh.
This number has increased by 9 from the previous 4 SPPGs operating since the first day of implementation on January 6. In Jakarta, the government targets 153 SPPGs to operate by the end of 2025.
For the record, the government officially runs the MBG program simultaneously in 26 provinces, starting from Aceh, Bali, West Sumatra, North Sumatra, Riau Islands, Riau, Lampung, Banten, West Java, DKI Jakarta, Central Java, East Java, DI Yogyakarta, Gorontalo, West Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, North Sulawesi, East Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, Maluku, North Maluku, East Nusa Tenggara, West Papua, and South Papua.
The government targets 937 MBG kitchens to be achieved by the end of January 2025 throughout Indonesia with the implementation carried out in stages in accordance with the readiness of each region.
During January to March 2025, it is hoped that the MBG program can touch three million beneficiaries, consisting of toddlers, students, PAUD, Kindergarten, SD, SMP, SMA, and pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers. This number will continue to grow to reach 15 million by the end of 2025.
