JAKARTA - The Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) said there were seven applicants for protection in the shooting case at KM 45 rest area of the Merak-Tangerang toll road which allegedly involved three members of the Indonesian Navy.

"The seven people consisted of one witness, the victim (injured), and the victim's family who represented the victim who died," said LPSK Deputy Chair, Susilaningtyas, Sunday, January 12.

Susilaningtyas said that there were six applications submitted to his party from the reporters.

Among them are submitting requests for assistance to the victim's family asking for restitution.

"Yes, the family has submitted a restitution proposal for their family or father who died," he said.

Susilaningtyas said that protection will be provided after going through applicable mechanism procedures.

"The protection mechanism will be submitted later, at the same time we want to do a reduction, based on the results of the reduction, we will decide regarding what the petition is, then what the results of the reduction are," he said.
