Update On COVID-19 As Of April 16: New Cases Of 6,177, Accumulated Of 1,589,359 Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 73,406 specimens were examined with the results of 5,353 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia reached 1,594,722 people and active cases fell to 107,297 cases," the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Friday, April 16.

Today's cases recovered increased by 5,975 cases, so that a total of 1,444,229 people recovered. Then, the confirmed positive cases who died increased by 123 people and the total was 43,196 people.

The province with the most new cases is in West Java with 998 cases and a total of 396,109 cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta which has 979 new cases with a total of 264,288 cases. Central Java has 669 new cases and a total of 176,873 cases. Then, East Java has 290 new cases and a total of 143,610 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to Central Java with an increase of 1,886 recovered cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with an increase of 1,035 cases recovered, West Java with an increase of 612 recovered cases, and Bali with an increase of 331 cases recovered.

No province reported having no new cases as of today. Provinces reporting new cases under 10 are North Kalimantan, Gorontalo, North Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, Maluku, West Sulawesi, and North Maluku.

In addition, the number of specimens that had been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigen reached 13,711,972.

"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 16.49 percent," he wrote.

For the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 58,999 people. Currently, 510 districts / cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.
