PDIP Legal Team Says There Is Hasto Info Must Be Detained Before The 2025 Congress

JAKARTA - The PDI-P (PDIP) DPP legal team said there was information that PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto was targeted. He even had to be detained before the party congress was held this year.

"We heard information that the Secretary General of the PDI-P Hasto Kristiyanto is targeted to be detained before the PDI-P Congress which will take place in the near future," said PDIP DPP chairman Ronny Talapessy in a press conference for the legal team at the PDIP Menteng DPP office, Central Jakarta, Thursday, January 9.

The detention aims to disrupt the party's consolidation process and silencing, continued Ronny. Therefore, the party bearing the symbol of a white-nosed bull is no longer critical of the 7th President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) who was accused of destroying democracy at the end of his power.

"All processes from the summons, confiscation of personal property, suspects, and search of the residence of the Secretary General of Hasto Kristiyanto, we value that they do not show pure efforts for the sake of law enforcement, but are part of a series of political operations with disruptive, chaotic targets, internal parties ahead of Congress," he explained.

Not only that, Ronny also highlighted that the KPK is currently in Jokowi's hands. This is because the head of the anti-corruption commission for the 2024-2029 period still uses the name that has been chosen earlier.

In fact, the names of the 10 candidates offered to the DPR RI should have been chosen by President Prabowo Subianto. "At the end of his reign, former President Joko Widodo ignored public criticism, both from former commissioners, former investigators, academics, media, and other civil society to stop the selection process and hand it over to the Prabowo government who only had to wait a little more time to be inaugurated," he said.

"The day after being inaugurated, the Jokowi edition of the KPK immediately worked to carry out a criminalization agenda, in the form of forced punishment against the PDI-P through Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto because he spoke critically about the democratic damage that Jokowi had done," added Ronny.

In addition, the current anti-corruption commission also feels more focused on dealing with PDIP. In fact, many civil society reports have been submitted regarding the alleged money laundering to the Medan block mining permit involving Jokowi's son-in-law, Bobby Nasution.
