JAKARTA - The flow of water in Kali Baru in the Hek area, RW 10, Central Kelurahan, Kramat Jati, East Jakarta, overflowed again on Thursday, January 9, 2025.

The overflowing water of the New River overflowed into residential areas on Jalan Jabah, RT 01/10, Central Kelurahan, Kramat Jati. The water level reaches 10 to 30 cm.

However, the DKI Jakarta BPBD ensures that the water is not inundated and is still flowing to the surrounding waterways.

"As a result of overflowing from Kali Baru, the water is not inundated and is still flowing. So it is not included in the inundation category," said Head of the DKI Jakarta BPBD Data and Information Center, Mohamad Yohan when confirmed by VOI, Thursday, January 9, morning.

The overflow that occurred was due to the process of making sheet piles at the location. However, due to the high water discharge sent from the Depok area, the volume of water eventually fell onto the road.

"There was a project to repair the New River embankment. The water then overflowed, but there was no puddle," he said.
