588 Police Personnel Escort The Determination Of The Governor Of Jakarta Today

A total of 588 joint personnel were deployed by the Polda Metro Jaya to secure the appointment of the elected governor and deputy governor of DKI Jakarta at the Pullman Hotel, West Jakarta, on Thursday, January 9, 2025.

The Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi, explained that these security personnel consisted of members of Polda Metro Jaya and Polres Metro West Jakarta.

"Polda Metro Jaya has prepared 588 joint personnel," said Ade Ary when giving a statement on Thursday morning.

According to him, hundreds of these personnel will be placed at a number of points, with a focus on security around the Pullman Hotel area, the location of the determination event.

Ade Ary also mentioned that his party had prepared traffic engineering around the event location. However, its implementation will be situational, depending on conditions on the ground.

"We continue to monitor the situation to determine whether traffic engineering needs to be done," he added.

Previously, the DKI Jakarta General Election Commission (KPU) had confirmed that it would determine the pair Pramono Anung and Rano Karno (Pramono-Rano) as elected governors and deputy governors of Jakarta. This pair won the most votes in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada.

The presence of the security forces at the location of the determination is expected to ensure that the event takes place safely and conducively.
