Former KPK Investigators Call Firli Bahuri Etc. Leaders Don't Dare To Issue Orders To Search The PDIP Office

JAKARTA - Former investigator of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Ronald Paul Signal said the leadership for the 2019-2024 period did not dare to issue a warrant to search the PDIP DPP office. This statement denies the assumption that forced abuse cannot be carried out because there is no permit from the KPK Supervisory Board.

This was conveyed after undergoing examination as a witness in the bribery case for the interim replacement (PAW) of members of the DPR and the obstruction of the investigation that ensnared the Secretary General of PDIP Hasto Kristiyanto.

"Regarding the search at the DPP (PDIP, red) office in early 2020, it was not only from Dewas and the like. Indeed, from the top itself, the leadership did not dare to issue (an order, ed) regarding searches at the PDIP DPP office," Ronal told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Wednesday, January 8.

"So it didn't reach the Dewas, at that time. It didn't get there. It was just the permit to the head of the task force (kasatgas) and to the leadership, the leadership did not issue the permit," he continued.

This condition made him believe that there was an attempt to intervene in handling the PAW bribery case, which initially ensnared Wahyu Setiawan and Harun Masiku, who were finally at large. One leader who is said to be the former chairman of the KPK, Firli Bahuri.

"I convey that there is indeed a challenge from Firli Bahuri himself. Even though it is indeed the role of my task force. But I think there is an indication of an order from Firli Bahuri," said Ronald.

Therefore Ronald hopes that investigators can summon Firli Bahuri for questioning. "It should not be me who was summoned here," he said.

"But Firli Bahuri himself should have also been here," continued the former investigator who was eliminated from the KPK because he did not pass the national insight test (TWK).

Previously reported, the KPK developed an interim replacement bribery (PAW) case that ensnared former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan and his fugitive, Harun Masiku. Two people were later named as suspects, namely PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto and Donny Tri Istiqomah who are PDIP cadres as well as lawyers.

It didn't stop there, Hasto was also a suspect in the obstruction of the investigation. He is suspected of trying to obstruct the legal process, one of which is by asking Harun to damage his cellphone and run away after the hand arrest operation (OTT) was carried out.
