KPK Summons Ex Investigators Who Handle Hasto Kristiyanto Case

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) summoned four witnesses regarding the alleged bribery in the management of interim replacement (PAW) members of the DPR and the obstruction of the investigation that ensnared the Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto. One of them is the former investigator, Ronald Paul Signal.

"The examination was carried out at the KPK's Red and White building," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardhika to reporters in a written statement, Wednesday, January 8.

In addition, investigators were also summoned by Saeful Bahri who was referred to as a PDIP cadre, A. Bagus Makkawaru as the Head of the Voting Subdivision, Vote Counting and Determination of Election Results at the KPU in 2019, and Chairman of the North Musi Rawas KPU for the 2019-2024 period Agus Mariyanto.

The examination material for the four witnesses has not been detailed. However, they are believed to know the case that ensnared Hasto.

Previously reported, the KPK named PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto and Donny Tri Istiqomah who are PDIP cadres as well as lawyers as suspects in alleged bribery related to the interim replacement (PAW) management of members of the DPR.

They are suspected of bribing Wahyu Setiawan who served as KPU Commissioner to smooth Harun Masiku's steps to parliament.

In addition, Hasto is also a suspect in the obstruction of the investigation. He is suspected of trying to obstruct the legal process, one of which is by asking Harun to damage his cellphone and run away after the arrest operation (OTT) was carried out.

In this case, the KPK has also searched Hasto's house in Bekasi, West and Kebagusan, South Jakarta on Tuesday, January 7. From the forced attempt, investigators found documents to electronic evidence.
