JAKARTA - Two construction workers died as a result of being hit by a wall while renovating a house on Jalan Danau Limboto, Bendungan Hilir (Benhil), Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, Friday, April 16.
Head of the Lower Dam Sub-Sector Benhil Police Ipda Kardi said the victims were identified as Supriyono and Dimas Riski. The concrete wall suddenly collapsed and hit the two of them.
"At the location, people died because a building fell", said Ipda Kardi.
The two victims who came from Sambongwangan Village, Blora, Central Java, had their bodies evacuated to an ambulance. Police officers have installed a police line at the crime scene, the house that is currently being renovated.
Meanwhile, another project worker named Tarman (48), from Taruman Village, Grobogan, Central Java managed to survive the incident.
Tarman explained the chronology of the incident, namely the house wall suddenly collapsed and hit him and his two colleagues. Tarman managed to survive, but his two colleagues were not able to be saved because of the hard wall hit.
"We're working. We gave the wall a ring, then we gave the meter and it collapsed, so the wall is not strong", said Tarman at the scene.
