Bali Police are still hunting for an online motorcycle taxi driver (ojol) who is suspected of being the perpetrator of the forced assault on a foreign national (WNA) from China.

"The team from the Jatanras Unit is still pursuing the perpetrators who are suspected of being online motorcycle taxi drivers," said Head of Public Relations of the Bali Police, Kombes Jansen Avitus Panjaitan in Denpasar, Tuesday, January 7.

Victim YA (33), a woman from China on vacation in Bali, stayed at Villa Casa de Kayla, Tumbak Bayuh, Mengwi Badung. The forced incident occurred on January 1, 2025 in the early hours of the morning.

Initially the victim along with six of his friends celebrated a New Year's Eve party at the KAYA (Magic New Year's Eve) event at Utilis Warung, Nyangnyang Beach, Uluwatu, Bali.

At around 01.20 WITA, the victim and six of his friends left the event. Four of his friends returned to the villa which is located at Salt Villa Ungasan.

Meanwhile, the victim and two of his friends are still waiting for the driver.

"The victim walked ahead while trying to find a vehicle or transportation to return to his place of stay at Villa Casa de Kayla Tumbak Bayuh, Mengwi, Badung," he said.

After walking several meters, the victim saw a motorbike with a driver wearing a green jacket and helmet. However, the victim forgot whether there was writing or not on the jacket. At that time the victim saw the driver lowering two passengers from foreign nationals.

The driver turned around to approach the victim and waved his hand and pointed at him as if offering the victim to get on his motorbike.

Because the victim saw that the motorcycle driver was friendly with two foreign passengers previously, he finally wanted to get on the driver's motorbike. The victim also gave the intended address to the perpetrator. Both of them started walking.

When starting the trip, the victim did not open Google Maps due to signal interference so he could not find out if the driver's direction was towards the villa to go to.

But a few moments later the victim felt that the driver was not heading towards the villa road, where the victim was staying. Feeling awkward, the victim tried to contact the victim's/reporter friend.

However, before connecting, the driver immediately stopped and took the victim's cellphone using his left hand.

After that, the perpetrator committed acts of violence against the Chinese foreigner and raped him.

As a result of the incident, the victim suffered several abrasions on several parts of the body.

After the incident, the victim then reported to the SPKT Polda Bali.

"Based on the victim's report and information, the team from the Jatanras Unit is pursuing the perpetrator who is suspected of being an online motorcycle taxi driver," said Kombes Jansen.
