Ojol Base And Street Vendors Along Blora Street Brushed By Satpol PP

JAKARTA - Online motorcycle taxi base (ojol) and street vendors (PKL) along Jalan Blora, Menteng District, Central Jakarta, were brought under control by the Central Jakarta Satpol PP, Tuesday, January 7, 2025.

Head of Central Jakarta Satpol PP Tumbur Parluhutan Purba said the arrangement was carried out because it was located in the Transit Oriented Development (TOD) area of the Integrated Highway (MRT) train station (MRT) in Menteng District.

"So we made arrangements along Jalan Blora towards the station, because there was confusion with the existence of an online motorcycle taxi (ojol) parking on the side of the road and the existence of street vendors trading on the sidewalk," Purba said when confirmed.

As many as 100 joint personnel, consisting of Satpol PP officers, the Transportation Service Sub-dept., sub-district and sub-district officials as well as the TNI and Polri.

"We take action, we give a yellow card and we will bring it to tipiring, as well as for ojol and motorcyclists to be dealt with by the Transportation Sub-dept.," he said.

According to Purba, parking lots have been prepared for ojol motorbikes, but because there are too many ojol, they park on the road.

To anticipate recurring incidents, his party also prepared officers to stand guard against street vendors selling on the sidewalk.

"We have given an appeal to the public not to park on the streets and for street vendors not to trade on the sidewalks," he said.
