JAKARTA - Rita Sicycleuk, the wife of the defendant Erintuah Damanik, admitted that she did not remember anything when the Public Prosecutor (JPU) searched for the exchange of foreign exchange (varlas) worth Rp1 billion.

It started when the prosecutor revealed the fact that Rita had exchanged the valus at PT Golden Trimulia Valasindo in August 2024. However, Erintuah Damanik's wife said she did not remember the nominal.

"This is August 2024. Meanwhile, have you ever been in another foreign exchange? Have you ever exchanged at Golden Trimulia Valasindo?" asked the prosecutor during a trial at the Jakarta Corruption Court, Tuesday, January 7.

"Ever," answered Rita.

"Do you still remember how much you've exchanged in total?" said the prosecutor.

"No," said Rita

Hearing this answer, the prosecutor then revealed data regarding the exchange of foreign currency made by Rita in the period March 2022 to June 4, 2024, totaling Rp. 1 billion.

However, before the panel of judges, Rita stated that she did not remember all the foreign exchanges.

"If you look at the data, it's around Rp. 1 billion, ma'am. Starting from March 2022 and June 4, 2024. If it's specifically for 2024, it starts with March 15, 2024, exchanging 20,000 US dollars, the value is Rp. 311 million with June 4, 2024," said the prosecutor.

"This is the data we received, we are confronting you. These data, these are mothers who exchanged them directly or have ordered people on behalf of their mothers or what?" continued the prosecutor.

"Oh, I don't remember, sir," answered Rita.

In the case of alleged bribery and gratification, the three defendants were charged with accepting bribes amounting to Rp1 billion and 308,000 Singapore dollars, which in total converted to around Rp 4.6 billion. The money was allegedly given in exchange for influencing the decision of Gregorius Ronald Tannur's case.

The Public Prosecutor (JPU) in his indictment revealed that bribes were received in various stages from January to August 2024.

Erintuah Damanik received 48,000 Singapore dollars in cash from Merizka Widjaja Tannur and Lisa Rachmat. In addition, Erintuah received a share of 38,000 Singapore dollars from Singapore dollars in cash which was received with other defendants.

Then, Mangapul received 36,000 Singapore dollars out of a total share of 140,000 Singapore dollars.

Meanwhile, Heru Hanindyo got 36,000 Singapore dollars from the same distribution, as well as IDR 1 billion in cash and 120,000 Singapore dollars from the same party.
