The Attorney General's Office Names 5 Corporate Suspects In The Tin Case, Burdens Replacement Money

The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has named five corporate suspects in the alleged corruption case in the management of tin commodity trading in the mining business permit (IUP) area of PT Timah Tbk.

The five corporations are PT Refined Bangka Tin (RBT), PT Stanindo Inti Perkasa (SIP), PT Sarijuna Bina Sentosa (SBS), Tinindo Inter Nusa (TIN), and CV Venus Inti Perkasa (VIP).

"We have determined 5 tin company corporations. There are 5 corporations that will be made and today we will announce them," said Attorney General ST Burhanuddin to reporters at the presentation of the Performance Achievement of the Decree of Corruption Prevention and Improvement of Governance and the Coordination Decree for Increasing State Foreign Exchange Revenue at the AGO, Thursday, January 2.

Not only being named a suspect, the five corporations were charged with paying compensation for environmental damage which was estimated at Rp271 trillion.

The Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) at the AGO, Febrie Ardiansyah, added that the compensation value for each suspect was different. For PT RBT around Rp. 38,539,212,949,330.8 or Rp. 38.5 trillion. Then, PT SB Rp. 23,670,769,700,728.8 or Rp.23.6 trillion, and PT SIP 24,311,841,441,084.4 or Rp.24.3 trillion.

Then, PT TIN with a compensation value of around Rp23,670,769,700,728.8 or Rp23.6 trillion, and PT VIP 42,155,825,740,622.8 or Rp42.1 trillion.

"The loading of environmental damage results from evidence and expert statements carried out at trial by the public prosecutor and approved in the judge's decision," he said.

The compensation value for environmental damage caused by the five corporations reached IDR 152 trillion. That figure is not entirely complete. Because, it is still calculated the dependents of the replacement money burden that must be paid.

"This is around Rp. 152 T. The rest is from Rp. 271 T which has been decided by the judge and it has become a state loss, this is being calculated by BPKP. Who is responsible, of course, we will be followed up and we will immediately convey it to the public," said Febrie.
