Joint SAR Team Intensify Search For Three Crew Members Of The Lost Kennedy Ship In Cilacap Waters

The joint SAR team continued the search for three crew members of the Kennedy ship who lost contact at around 12.00 WIB, in Cilacap waters, Central Java, Tuesday, December 31.

Head of the Cilacap Search and Rescue Office, Muhamad Abdullah, admitted that he received information at 18.00 WIB, last Tuesday. In the report he obtained, the Kennedy ship, which was supposed to dock at the Cilacap PPS pier at 12.00 WIB, had not returned until the afternoon.

Knowing that the Kennedy ship and 3 crew members who are also colleagues have not returned and are suspected of being missing, the complainant who is a local fisherman immediately contacted the Cilacap Basarnas who then immediately coordinated with the family and HNSI Cilacap.

The identities of the three crew members of the Kennedy ship who were suspected missing, namely Misrun (56), Sarno (38) and Sainu Catur Prayogo (19) residents of Jalan Tapang Dengklok RT 04 RW 08 Tegalkamulyan Village, South Cilacap District, Cilacap Regency.

The joint SAR elements consisting of Basarnas Cilacap, SROP Cilacap, Lanal Cilacap, Polairud Cilacap, Navigation District, PPSC Cilacap, SAR Arnavat, Rapi Cilacap and local fishermen, then searched for the crew members of the Kennedy ship who were suspected of missing.

"The joint SAR team plans to continue the search with the operation plan dividing into 3 teams," said Head of the Cilacap Search and Rescue Office Muhamad Abdullah to the media crew, Wednesday, January 1.

As for the distribution, namely SRU 1 Conducting sweeping on the surface of the water with RIB 05 covering an area of 2 NM around the location of the incident (LKP).

"For SRU 2, we conducted a search using a rescue trail as far as 10 km from Ketapang Indah Beach to Jetis Beach," he added.

Finally, SRU 3 will monitor using the Thermal UAV Drone from Bukit Menanti and map it to the relevant agencies and spread information to fishermen.
