Rector's Room At UIN Ciputat Burns, Campus Ensures Softcopy Of Data Is Safe

TANGERANG - Public Relations of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Zainal Muttaqin ensured that activities on campus were still running normally, even though the Rectorate Building caught fire this morning or Monday, December 30, at 06.30 WIB.

He added that the rector and vice-rector's rooms were moved to the floors that were not affected.

"God willing, the activities will continue smoothly. The Chancellor also immediately served. Only one room caught fire," Zainal told reporters at UIN Jakarta, Ciputat, South Tangerang, Monday, December 30.

"(The one who caught fire) is in the same room. The Rector's staff room. So between the rector's room and the vice chancellor," he continued.

Regarding files or documents in the Rectorate staff room, Zainal admitted that something was on fire. However, it is not too worrying, because all the data in the room has been entered into digital data.

"God willing, it will not have a significant impact, because UIN (Jakarta) has implemented digitalization in every correspondence or documentation," he said.

Meanwhile, student activities are not affected. Because the students have entered the holiday after the Semester Final Examination.

"The student is on vacation, because he has undergone UAS," he concluded.

Previously, the UIN Jakarta Chancellor's Building, Ciputat, South Tangerang (Tangsel), caught fire. The cause is suspected to be an electrical short in the socket.

The Commander of the South Tangerang Fire Department (Danton) Imam said the incident occurred on Monday, December 30, at 06.30 WIB.

A total of 10 units and dozens of personnel were deployed. As a result, the fire was extinguished at 07.35 WIB.

He also confirmed that there were no casualties in the incident. However, the loss reached Rp. 200 million.

"Losses Rp. 200 million. Files in the rector's room caught fire. But partly," said Imam.
