Ketapang-Gilimanuk Crossing Smoothly On D-2 Tofu New 2025

JAKARTA - Basarnas conducts patrols on the Ketapang crossing, Banyuwangi-Gilimanuk, Bali during the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year holidays.

Head of Operations for the Surabaya SAR Office Basarnas, Didit Arie Ristandy, said that air monitoring on D-2 New Year 2025 of the Ketapang-Gilimanuk crossing traffic was smooth.

"We can convey the crossing of the Ketapang-Gilimanuk route from the results of air monitoring, the situation is still safely under control, there are no things that need special attention," he said in Banyuwangi, Monday, December 30, which was confiscated by Antara.

Air monitoring using the Dauphin AS365 N3+HR-3601 helicopter belonging to the Surabaya Basarnas took off from Banyuwangi Airport on Monday, December 30 at around 10.15 WIB and air patrols on the Ketapang-Gilimanuk route.

In addition to air patrols at the Ketapang-Giimanuk crossing, Didit continued, the Basarnas helicopter also monitors the traffic conditions of the Balanjuran Forest Pantura at the Situbondo-Banyuwangi border.

From air monitoring, the road in front of Ketapang Port and at Gilimanuk Harbor is also empty, there are no queues of ferry service users on the two sides of the port of the Bali Strait.

Didit added that in addition to alerting helicopters in Banyuwangi, the Surabaya Basarnas also alerted KN SAR 249 Permadi as the main tool for marine SAR. All of these SAR equipment are expected to support faster, more efficient assistance efforts.

"On December 22-24, 2024, helicopters will carry out air patrols, and the second from 29-31 December 2024 also patrols the Ketapang-Gilimanuk route," he said.

In the air patrol using the helicopter belonging to the Surabaya Basarnas, it was also attended by representatives of the TNI Al Banyuwangi Base, 0825 Kodim, Satpolairud and local BPBD.

The Head of BPBD Banyuwangi Danang Hartanto expressed his gratitude to the Surabaya National SAR Agency for providing air patrol support by alerting helicopters in the eastern tip of Java Island district.

"In general, from the air monitoring, the main Banyuwangi road started from the south, then towards the city and then towards Ketapang it was smooth and safe," said Danang.

The Basarnas helicopter was alerted in Banyuwangi during the Nataru holiday as Basarnas preparedness in dealing with the potential for accidents or disasters.
