The Inauguration Of The Governor And Regional Heads Of Gorontalo 2024 Still Waiting For Certainty From The Indonesian KPU

The General Election Commission (KPU) of Gorontalo Province said the inauguration of the Governor and Deputy Governor was elected in the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Head Election (Pilkada) in the area, while waiting for instructions from the Indonesian KPU.

"We make sure there are no lawsuits at the Constitutional Court (MK) regarding the results of the 2024 Gorontalo Governor and Deputy Governor Elections. However, we are currently waiting for a notification regarding the Constitutional Court regarding areas where there are no lawsuits," said a member of the Gorontalo Province KPU, Technical Division and Hendrik Imran's Implementation in Gorontalo, as quoted by ANTARA.

He said the inauguration was based on Presidential Regulation (Pepres) Number 80 of 2024, for governors and deputy governors will be held on February 7, 2025 and the inauguration of regents and deputy regents, mayors and deputy mayors on February 10, 2025.

"But in principle we, the regional KPU, are waiting for instructions from the Republic of Indonesia. Given that there is a lawsuit in the Constitutional Court, then proceed with a trial of evidence, even until the final verdict, it is possible that the process will be completed at the Constitutional Court around mid-March 2025. Information from the center will determine the implementation of the inauguration," he said.

There is no lawsuit for the governor election. "It is possible that it will be carried out according to schedule, inaugurated by the President in Jakarta," he said.

Meanwhile, the Mayor of Gorontalo, the Regent of Pohuwato, North Gorontalo and Bone Bolango will still wait for the results of the trial and the Constitutional Court's decision.

Hendrik said that according to information from the trial of the election dispute lawsuit at the Constitutional Court, it would begin in early January 2025.
