Update On COVID-19 As Of April 15: New Cases Of 6,177, Accumulated Of 1,589,359 Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 74,583 specimens were examined with the results that there were 6,177 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 1,589,359 people and active cases have dropped to 108,032 cases", the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Thursday, April 15.

Today's cases increased by 6,362 so that a total of 1,438,254 people recovered. Then, 167 positive confirmed cases died and a total of 43,073 people.

The province with the newest cases was in DKI Jakarta with 1,330 cases and a total of 396,109 cases. Followed by West Java, which has 1,216 new cases with a total of 264,288 cases. Central Java has 841 new cases and a total of 176,873 cases. Then, East Java has 294 new cases and a total of 143,610 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to Central Java with an increase of 2,119 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 1,351 recovered cases, DKI Jakarta with an increase of 526 recovered cases, and Yogyakarta with an increase of 267 recovered cases.

There is one province that reported no new cases as of today. Maluku Province reported zero new cases.

Also, the number of specimens that had been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigen reached 13,638,566.

"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 16.49 percent", he wrote.

For the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 58,328 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.

Currently, 10,596,373 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 5,713,404 vaccines for the second dose. Meanwhile, the total target of vaccination stages 1 and 2 reached 40,349,051 people.
