JAKARTA - Former Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Edhy Prabowo will stand trial on charges of alleged bribery of export permits. The hearing is being held at the Jakarta Corruption Crime (Tipikor) Court will be followed by Edy online.
"Today is scheduled for the first trial of defendant Edhy Prabowo and friends with the agenda of reading the indictment by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Public Prosecutor", said KPK spokesman Ali Fikri said in a written statement on Thursday, April 15.
The KPK prosecutors will indict the Gerindra Party politicians with Article 12 letter a Law No. 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes as amended by Law No. 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law No. 31 of 1999 concerning eradication of corruption crimes jo Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st Criminal Code jo Article 65 paragraph (1) penal code.
Alternatively, Article 11 of Law No. 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes as amended by Law No. 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law No. 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes jo Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st Penal Code jo Article 65 paragraph (1) penal code.
