JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) 2019-2024 Jusuf Kalla considers that there will be no more issues of leadership dualism within the humanitarian organization after the issuance of a decree from the Indonesian Ministry of Law on Friday, December 20.

In the decree signed by the Indonesian Minister of Law Supratman Andi Atgas, Jusuf Kalla and Nanan Sukarna as General Chair and Deputy Chairperson of PMI for the period 2024-2029 based on the results of the 22nd National Conference (Munas) which is legal and recognized by law.

"The point of this decision, the Ministry of Law of the Republic of Indonesia accepts and recognizes AD/ART, 22nd National Conference, and will then be recorded in the administrative system. This is what I received directly this letter this morning from Minister Supratman Andi Atgas. So the problem has been resolved, there is no dualism, there is no more competition because the match has ended," he said at the inauguration of the Central PMI Management in Jakarta, Friday.

With this decision, Jusuf Kalla suggested to the group chaired by Agung Laksono to establish a social institution to deal with other disasters and not to make PMIs in any version because it would go against existing regulations.

It is known that Agung Laksono claims that his party has won more than 20 percent of the votes in support from PMI members and is of the opinion that it is in accordance with the provisions of the AD / ART, as many as 240 of the 392 members who attended the deliberation version of their version.

"There is only one thing that is recognized by the state and the law. The group chaired by Agung Laksono and his friends is the Indonesian management group (PMI) that we fired," he said.

Jusuf Kalla invites all PMI administrators, members and volunteers not to be eroded in the issue of the leadership claim because there has been a legal stipulation.

It is hoped that all PMI members can focus more on work programs so that they can be better in an effort to ease the burden on the community or individuals affected by conflicts. This is like a humanitarian mission which is one of the seven basic principles of world reddening.

Jusuf Kalla also emphasized his commitment in the next five years to continue to improve the expertise of PMI volunteers through a series of training programs, to increase environmental conservation activities with an ecological approach to reduce the impact of the climate crisis, triggering natural disaster vulnerability, especially in the country.
