COVID-19 Update As Of April 14: 5,656 New Cases, 124 More Deaths

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released additional positive cases of the latest COVID-19 as of today. A total of 74,158 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 5,656 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was found in Indonesia reached 1,583,182 people and active cases dropped to 108,384 cases", as quoted from the Ministry of Health data, Wednesday, April 14.

Cases recovered today increased by 5,747 cases, bringing the total to 1,431,892 people recover. Then, positive confirmation cases of the deceased increased by 124 people and a total of 42,906 people.

The province with the newest cases was in West Java with 1,568 cases and a total of 263,072 cases. Followed by Central Java which has 716 new cases with a total of 176,032 cases. DKI Jakarta has 661 new cases and a total of 394,779 cases. Then, Riau has 335 new cases and a total of 37,729 cases.

The province with the most cured cases today belongs to Central Java with an increase of 1,780 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 669 recovered cases, Central Java with an increase of 614 recovered cases, and DI Yogyakarta with an increase of 290 recovered cases.

Papua is one province that reported no new cases today.

Besides, the number of specimens examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 13,563,983.

"The positive result per number of positivity rate this week was 16.49 percent", he wrote.

For the number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspect cases, it is recorded at 58,580 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

Furthermore, there are currently 10,477,506 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 5,568,857 second dose vaccinations. Meanwhile, the total target of vaccination for stages 1 and 2 reached 40,349,051 people.
