Nawawi Pomolango Calls ASDP Corruption Allegations As PR Leader For The 2024-2029 Period

Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Nawawi Pomolango said there were a number of major cases that were the homework of the KPK leadership for the period 2024-2029.

One of them is allegations of corruption related to business cooperation (KSU) and the acquisition of PT Jembatan Nusantara by PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) which is detrimental to state finances.

This was conveyed by Nawawi while attending the taking of the oath of office of the Leader and Supervisory Board of the KPK for the period 2024-2029.

"There are several (cases that are the homework of the KPK leadership for the period 2024-2029, ed). The handling of ASDP (and, ed) cases is several (cases, ed)," Nawawi told reporters at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday, December 16.

Nawawi said coordination with the new leadership of the anti-corruption commission had been carried out, especially regarding the corruption cases being handled. He believes that the transition will not experience many obstacles because the person who is appointed is not a new person.

No exception, continued Nawawi, Johanis Tanak who returned to his position as Deputy Chair of the KPK. "Quite a lot (homework, ed)," he said.

"But later we will talk about it. Incidentally, there are some who are not new people too," continued Nawawi.

As previously reported, President Prabowo Subianto has taken the oath of leadership and the KPK Supervisory Board for the period 2024-2029. They will only start effective working on December 20 according to Presidential Decree Number 161P/2024.

Five KPK leaders were elected through a fit and proper test by Commission III of the DPR RI:

1. Setyo Budiyanto who is the Inspector General of the Ministry of Agriculture;

2. Fitroh Rohcahyanto who is the former Director of Prosecution of the KPK;

3. Ibnu Basuki Widodo who is a judge at the Manado High Court;

4. Johanis Tanak who is the Deputy Chair of the KPK for the 2019-2024 period; and

5. Agus Joko Pramono who is the Deputy Chair of the BPK for the 2019-2023 period

Meanwhile, the KPK Council chosen by Commission III of the DPR is as follows:

1. Gusrizal

2. Benny Jozua Mamoto

3. Wisnu Baroto

4. Sumpeno

5. Chisca Mirawati.
