JAKARTA - The Geological Disaster Technology Research and Development Center (BPPTKG) conducted research at land movement disaster locations in a number of sub-districts in Lebak Regency, Banten.
Head of the Lebak Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Febby Rizky Pratama in Lebak, Sunday, said that his party involved BPPTKG to conduct research and observations at four locations of land movement disasters that had occurred since a week ago.
The BPPTKG team conducted research and observations at the location of ground movement in Panyaungan Village, Cihara District, Cimandiri Village, Panggarangan District, Cijengkol Village, Cilograng District, and Cidikit Village, Bayah District.
"Research and observations at the location of the land movement will be known in the next two weeks," he explained.
According to him, the handling of disaster mitigation of ground movement was carried out according to standard operating procedures (SOP), including conducting assessments to save people affected by natural disasters, especially extreme weather still occurs until the end of December 2024.
In addition, it also provides refugee camps in safer places and distributes logistics distribution as well as public kitchens.
Furthermore, BPBD Lebak will follow up on the results of research and observations from BPPTKG.
"What are the results of the research from BPPTKG, if it is recommended that it be relocated to a safer place, then it is done and vice versa if it is allowed to be occupied, the community will not be relocated," said Febby.

He said that currently there are only two villages affected by the movement of land from four villages, but only two are still living in the refugee camps.
The evacuation post at SMPN 8 Cidikit Village, Bayah District, was recorded at 67 families with 180 people.
For Panyaungan Village, Cihara District, there are refugees in 24 families with 81 people.
The Lebak Regency Government for residents whose houses are heavily damaged will certainly be assisted to get a monthly house rental.
"We hope that residents whose houses are affected by the movement of the land will be relocated to a safe location after receiving the results of the BPPTKG research," he explained.
