PDIP Reveals Complete Chronology Of Repressive Police During Recapitulation At KPUD Paniai

Chairman of the PDIP DPP Ronny Talapessy revealed that the police had taken repressive actions during the vote recapitulation process at the KPUD level of Paniai Regency, Central Papua.

Ronny said the police repressive action took place on Wednesday, December 11, during the recapitulation of the voices of Cabup and Cababup Paniai and Cagub-Cawagub Central Papua running smoothly at 09.30 WIT.

Even the recapitulation was also attended by five KPUD and Bawaslu commissioners at the Paniai Regency level, the candidate witnesses who contested it.

"Reading the results of the field from the District level starting from Topiyai District to Aweida District went smoothly," Ronny said at a press conference, Friday, December 13.

However, Ronny continued, the commotion began to emerge during the recapitulation process to read out the vote count from Webeka District at around 10.30 WIT in order to cancel the vote count.

Ronny revealed that the commotion was carried out by witnesses from two Cagubs in Central Papua, namely Natalis Tabuni and Wilem Wandik. He called witnesses from the Cabup Paniai Oktopianus Gobai, Roby Kayeme, and Nason

Uti made a scene by destroying the chair and table of the plenary session of the recapitulation.

"At 11.00 WIT, the witnesses from five candidates for the Regent or Deputy Regent of Paniai Regency began to respond to objections to the commotion until they destroyed the court table equipment," said Ronny.

Based on information obtained by Ronny, the Paniai KPUD gave a response at around 11.30 WIT to the witnesses who made a fuss so that the recapitulation was carried out according to the rules.

However, said Ronny, the witnesses did not accept and received prolonged commotion to the security forces without being asked to enter the plenary room.

"Including the Paniai District Police Chief, Police Commissioner Deddy A. Puhiri and his subordinates were complete with weapons equipment," he said.

Ronny said Kompol Deddy at 12.20 WIT issued instructions so that the plenary meeting of the recapitulation could be carried out peacefully. However, the commotion occurred again because the witness insisted that the recapitulation be postponed. The police returned to enter the room.

According to Ronny, the police officers with complete weapons returned to the plenary meeting room for the recapitulation at 13:40 WIT without being asked. Then, the Head of the Paniai District Police, AKP Hendry Joedo Manurung, was recorded as threatening the five KPUD commissioners on duty.

Hendry, said Ronny, pressured the commissioner of the Paniai Regency KPUD not to continue the vote count which objected to the witness from the candidate.

"Take care of the problematic ones that are not problematic, it turns out that you are going back and forth," he said, imitating Hendry's words that pressured the commissioners of the Paniai Regency KPUD.

From that threat, said Ronny, the commissioner of the Paniai Regency KPUD stopped the recapitulation process until an undetermined time limit.

"Waiting for the schedule for the continuation of the plenary count of votes at the district level," he said.
