KPK Will Call Again Yasonna Laoly Next Wednesday Next Week

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said that the former Minister of Law and Human Rights (Menkumham) under President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), Yasonna H. Laoly, would be summoned again next week. Investigators need his statement so that a recall is made.

"The temporary information we get for the rescheduling will be carried out on Wednesday, December 18," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardhika to reporters at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday, December 13.

Tessa said the reschedule was carried out because Yasonna confirmed her absence from today's summons. He could not attend because there was another unscheduled agenda.

However, he said the request for information was based on an investigation warrant (sprindik) for the bribery process for the interim replacement process (PAW) of members of the Indonesian House of Representatives who dragged Harun Masiku.

"Whether the evidence that has been confiscated or maybe there is other information needed from him, of course, everything will have something to do with the knowledge possessed by YL's brother," he said.

"So we'll just have to wait, Wednesday when he is present, whatever is conveyed later we will find out," continued the spokesman with the investigator's background.

As a reminder, Yasonna once stated that Harun Masiku had not returned to Indonesia from Singapore. This statement was made after the KPK failed to arrest Harun during a hand arrest operation (OTT) on January 8, 2020.

In fact, based on CCTV footage at Soekarno-Hatta Airport circulating, Harun turned out to have returned to Indonesia on January 7 or before the OTT took place.
