Pekanbaru Student Who Hit IRT To Death Sentenced To 8 Years In Prison, SIM Revoked 2 Years

PekanBARU - The Panel of Judges at the Pekanbaru District Court, Riau, sentenced a student, Marisa Putri (21), who hit a housewife for 8 years in prison.

The victim was hit to death when the perpetrator was under the influence of narcotics and illegal drugs.

Chief Judge Hendah Karmila Dewi stated that Marisa Putri was found guilty of crashing into an IRT named Renti Marningsih (46) to death after having a drug party with a number of her friends.

Apart from being sentenced to prison, the judge decided to revoke A Marisa Putri's driving license for two years after completing her sentence.

"The thing that burdens the defendant is that it causes suffering and trauma to the victim's family and causes widespread unrest in the community," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, December 12.

The thing that eased his sentence, Marisa behaved well in court and admitted her guilt.

The verdict is in accordance with the demands of the Public Prosecutor (JPU) at the trial of reading the charges. He was charged with Article 311 paragraph 5, Article 310 paragraph 4, and Article 310 paragraph 1 of Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation.

Regarding this decision, Marisa Putri stated that she accepted the decision after discussing it with her attorney.

Under the influence of alcohol and drugs, he was desperate to drive a blue Toyota Raize. As a result, Marisa hit Renti Marningsih (46) who was riding a motorcycle at around 05.45 WIB.

From the results of the examination, it was found that the victim suffered a fatal head injury, bleeding from the ears and nose, as well as several other serious injuries that caused on-site death.

The results of the post-mortem by dr. Beton Sitepu from Arifin Achmad Hospital confirmed the injuries. Meanwhile, the drug laboratory examination at Marisa showed positive results for amphetamine substances.
