SERANG - The Banten Provincial Government (Pemprov) continues to intensify efforts to handle around 35,000 toddlers who are stunted (tengkes) and tuberculosis (TBC). Acting Governor of Banten, Al Muktabar said the figure came from the results of weight measurements and height of 840,000 toddlers in the province.

"With this system, the handling becomes more targeted. So, the data we manage focuses on individuals, so the intervention is directly on toddlers in need," said Al Muktabar in Serang, Wednesday, December 11.

Al Muktabar explained that the stunting prevalence rate in Banten was 23.8 percent based on the Indonesian Nutrition Status Survey (SSGI). However, data from e-PPGBM shows a lower prevalence rate, which is around four percent.

This difference occurs because of different data collection methodologies. However, data based on name by address remains the main reference to ensure effective handling," he said.

The Banten Provincial Government also runs three main programs in the field of public health, in line with the program of the Ministry of Health and Asta Cita President Prabowo Subianto.

This tuberculosis-free Banten (TBC) program affirms the Banten Provincial Government's commitment to seriously handle and prevent TB disease. The provincial government hopes that the community, especially toddlers in Banten, will be free from stunting and tuberculosis.
