JAKARTA - Chairman of DPD La Nyalla Mahmud Mattalitti reminded the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno to immediately prepare a program to revive local arts and cultural workers. Because art workers are now in a state of disrepair.

Ironically, the deterioration of national art workers was even echoed by K-Pop culture from Korea which was still rampant during the pandemic.

"The national creative industry is still running in place and the music world is flooded with K-Pop music products from Korea. During the pandemic, they can perform through digital platforms and still earn income from subscribers," La Nyalla said in a statement on Tuesday, April 13.

According to the Chairman of the Honorary Board of the Kadin of East Java, the country music industry is still very conventional. Where in expressing his work, art and culture workers still rely on the stage, because there is still a lack of connected to digital platforms.

"The digital platform is a foreign product, where they are the ones who enjoy the benefits economically," said the former Chairman of pssi.

Therefore, La Nyalla encouraged the Ministry of Parliament under the leadership of Sandiaga to re-awaken the creative industries of the country in order to move back.

"The Ministry of Parliament now has a large enough homework so that arts and culture workers can rise up against the COVID-19 pandemic. Art and culture also need attention because people whose lives in art and cultural circles are quite large," he said.

The COVID-19 pandemic continues to have a negative impact on the creative industries. Compared to other sectors, it is the arts sector that is hardest hit.

Even today, the cinema is still closed because it has not been allowed to play movies and invite audiences. Musicians and bands, also not free to dance in public areas such as malls, let alone performance halls.
