MATARAM - Mount Rinjani National Park Center (TNGR) West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) stated that booking climbing tickets through the eRinjani application can be carried out until December 25, 2024.

"Permesanan tiket melalui aplikasi eRinjani dapat dilakukan paling lambat tanggal 25 Desember 2024 pukul 23.59 WITA," kata Kepala Balai TNGR NTB Yarman melalui keterangan tertulisnya di Mataram, Antara, Jumat, 6 Desember.

This policy was carried out in connection with preparations for closing the climbing natural tourist destination path at Mount Rinjani National Park and closing the year-end book for Non-Tax State Revenue Treasurers (PNBP).

"The climb of Mount Rinjani will be closed at the end of 2024," he said.

The closure was carried out, because the weather conditions or peaks of the rainy season are predicted to occur in early 2025 and for the safety of climbers.

Therefore, he appealed to people who want to climb to Mount Rinjani to immediately book tickets according to the rules.

"Residents can book tickets if they want to climb Mount Rinjani 2024, before closing the hiking trail is carried out," he said.

In addition, he also hopes that tourists and the public will continue to comply with all applicable rules for the safety, comfort and sustainability of nature in the Mount Rinjani area.

"The climb must go through official channels and according to the rules," he said.

Previously, Balai TNGR prepared a number of steps to realize the climbing of zero waste to Mount Rinjani on Lombok Island, West Nusa Tenggara.

"In 2025, we did zero waste so that there is no more potential for garbage to be transported upwards (Gunung Rinjani)," said Yarman.

Yarman said the climbing of zero waste began in April 2025, after three months of closure. Every year, from January to March, climbing activities to Mount Rinjani are always closed to provide environmental recovery time.

In 2023, the Gunung Rinjani National Park Office recorded the number of climbing visits to Mount Rinjani as many as 140 thousand people.

Of the total visits, it resulted in non-tax state revenues or PNBP of Rp. 14.7 billion and a circulation of money in the community of Rp. 79 billion.

Mount Rinjani has six hiking trails and a maximum of only 400 climbers are allowed to travel to the mountain every day.
